Pablo García-Berlanga

Pablo García-Berlanga is one of the Spanish pianists with the higher levels of training in vocal accompaniment, a specialization that he combines with his career as a soloist. He did several master's degrees in piano performance and accompaniment in the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Flanders Operastudio in Ghent with professors as renowned as Aleksandar Madzar and Malcolm Martineau. He won the Christian Carpenter Piano Prize awarded by the Royal Academy of Music for the best recital in his field.

His additional training includes courses taught by Adolfo Bueso, Guillermo González, Joaquín Soriano, Ratko Delorko, Karl-Heinz Kaemmerling, Mûza Rubackyte, Wolfram Rieger, Helmut Deutsch, François Le Roux and Eduardo López Banzo. Furthermore, he obtained a degree in History and Music Sciences from the University of La Rioja.
He plays regularly at international level as soloist, piano accompanist and with chamber music ensembles, giving concerts in prestigious auditoriums such as the Palau de la Música and Palau de les Arts of Valencia, the Bijloke and Vlaamse Opera in Belgium, Duke’s Hall, the Spanish Embassy and the Austrian Cultural Forum in London, the ETA Hoffmann Theater in Bamberg, as well as several concert halls in Spain, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and El Salvador. Pablo has also taken part in the International Festival of Contemporary Music of Valencia, the Festival of Wallonia and the Sedbergh Music Festival.
Some of his most notable performances include the Concerto in G by Ravel with the National Symphony Orchestra of El Salvador; a Grieg Marathon in Ghent; the concerts he played in the Xacobeo Holy Year 2010; a recital in the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles attended by the Queen Mathilde of Belgium and a tour with Zavel Trio in Spain. He collaborates with different Spanish, Belgian and German opera companies, and with choirs such as Pequeños Cantores de Valencia, the Coro Universitario Sant Yago or the London Contemporary Voices. He has taught master classes at the National Choir of El Salvador. He is also a founding member of the Plaerdemavida Ensemble, and a member of Regards Piano Duo, together with the pianist Irene Renart. Pablo has worked as piano accompanist in master classes with renowned musicians such as Barbara Bonney, Ann Murray, Mariella Devia, Ana María Sánchez, Sir Thomas Allen and Florian Boesch.
He has recorded two CD’s: Azulão, with Plaerdemavida Ensemble, and KeyWorks, his first solo album. He currently works as a teacher of Repertoire for Voice with Piano Accompaniment in the Conservatorio Superior de Música 'Joaquín Rodrigo' of Valencia.
